How do you ensure buyer and seller protection when sale involves shipping?

Probably a stupid question... But how do you safely buy/sell when not having an in person transaction, but shipping item being sold..?

Escrow or insurance is needed.
I've used Ebay or CarGuru's escrow for those purposes.

Paypal. Never Venmo or direct payment apps.

Paypal only and must be sent as goods and services. The seller must input a tracking number as well.
There is insurance on your transaction thru Payal.

Like person above stated/never use venmo/cash app/google pay. Red Flag here if this is all they accept.
Those are for friend to friend transactions only.

I always use Paypal with an invoice and never send it as friends and family. You get the added bonus of being able to ship it though Paypal to the approved address which usually gets your all the guarantees that they offer.

I agree with others, PayPal, not friends and family. I will make exceptions, if it is a low value transaction and I am willing to lose the money involved, then I might accept the risk.

In general though scammers are going to scam, and you have to be careful of links that are provided to you. Emails can be convincing and could capture your login and password which the scammer could use to clean out your accounts. In general best practice is to not click any link in any email and go to the site directly and see the information there.
