I am under the impression that they do this to give the battery a larger buffer zone, but in my view it is just to upset customers.

If there was a real motive, like a financial one, then I could believe that they do this.

Since this would only serve to harm them financially (by upsetting customers), then I have a hard time believing it.

Nah, this number is not affected by driving style and such. I've attempted to give the BMS plenty of time to recalibrate by doing various charge cycles. I'll let them sort it out.

Apparently you haven't had to deal with the arbitration nonsense over previous in warranty repairs. Sometimes, they dont use logic.

And we know your Wh/mile was the same before and after the repair? Doesn’t the car do this ‘guess-o-meter’ math in real time, along the same lines as the “zomg I recovered range” threads in the model 3 subforum?

The energy app within the Tesla MCU does have everything to do with driving style.
- I know this because when I have 100tw 275mm tires on, that 40% range hit is very much shown.
