I like this diagram from Volkswagen… a very simple and compelling depiction of the efficiency and complexity gulf between the two technologies.

Yesterday, after seeing the Cybertruck in Richmond I went to Flinders Lane for lunch and the BMW marketing team was there doing a photoshoot of a Hydrogen powered X3 (or something of equal size). It is really sad that Toyota and BMW are doubling down on hydrogen for passenger cars. It hasn’t been viable in the past 15-20 years and won’t be in the future either.
All of these efforts that they are doing are more about creating confusion in the "Common Mum and Dad" Buyers to make the prospect of considering anything other than what they know inconsiderable (eg. ICE).

FUD is one of the most powerful marketing tools on hand and has been used in many industries for years with some great success in the interim. None of these companies really think Hydrogen is viable and they are not really doing that much R&D in developing this further.

But the confusion really drives home the need for people to Stay with what they know.......
