I have a model S reg. in 2016. LED died in the top eyebrow of the passenger side cluster. Failed an MOT I believed DRLs were not included until 2018?

LED DRLs have been in Teslas since 2012 although the design changed over the years. The 2016 headlight module is not repairable (it's exceptionally well-sealed). The entire assembly must be replaced. Not sure I understand your question if this doesn't answer it.

Unfortunately, that is what I believed too, but it transpires that a previous MOT which passed the faulty lamp was wrong!!
The actual title of the failure of the MOT is;
"Position Lamp with a multiple light source more than 1/2 not functioning Nearside Front [4.2.1 (a) (ii)]"
Which means that the DRL is part of the sidelight and as such, the sidelight is not working. So I have to replace the unit at about £650 +VAT 🤬
