Thanks for all the good information. It looks like the M3 roof rack is a bit of a nightmare!

Irrespective, I need to get one for my car (which hasn't been delivered yet), but there don't seem to be any roof bars in stock at Tesla. How often do they get new stock in (in the UK) and is it likely that they will have some in the next 3-4 weeks for when my car arrives?

Anyone managed to get the sticky pads on without them looking bad?
No matter how much I tried on a (very clean car) I got bubbles and fingerprints under them. When I take the bars off they look awful.
Should I have used a soap solution or something?

I used soap water. came out perfectly. no bubbles. soap water is awesome for stickers/decals cause not only is it easy to squeegee out the bubbles, but you can slide it around until it's in the perfect position.
