Insurance for Model 3 RHD UK

Hi

I have read on these forums that specialist insurance is available for Tesla cars via Direct Line / LV etc
However for the model 3, the various comparison websites are still not showing the model 3 as a selectable vehicle.
I phoned Direct Line's Tesla number (as posted elsewhere on the forums) and received a quote of £924.
This strikes me as being quite steep given that both my wife and I are in our 40s.
Has anyone else tried to obtain a quote for a UK RHD model 3 yet?

Many thanks

Hi
I have been on one of the comparison sites and found a left hand drive performance model 3 and managed to get a quote for £560. As the model 3 delivery could start in June I presume the comparison sites will be updated accordingly. I have ordered a long range awd and am hoping that the insurance will be less than £500.

Hi I’ve been given several prices from Direct Line. First was for a comparable price based on Model S 90D for a M3P that was approximately £750, thought that was OK as it’s a company car. A few weeks ago rang again and the M3 was now on their system and that had increased to ~ £850 or I thought that what they said. Back from holiday to find a quote in the post for just short of £1,100. I’m 65, have full NCD and already have two cars with them. Somethings not right.

Have you got a delivery date for your M3 yet?

Usually when you get high quotes like that, it means that the underwriters aren't really willing to insure the car (but if you spend silly money they'll say yes). I would expect that they simply don't have all the data written into their systems yet to offer you a realistic quote. I could be wrong though.
