M3 4 sure. Looking carefully you see that the rear wheel well is too far out to the back which
is contradiction with the enormous trunk space in a MS. Missing is also the silver trim spanning
the gap between the stoplights.

The shape of the taillights and deck lid is the giveaway for me.

Just the fact that it's a Tesla is shocking - not because it has a canoe strapped to the top, you'd just have to understand this area. There may be 3 Teslas in this rural county, so the chances one would happen to get photographed in this story is probably 1 in 6 hundred trillion (and yes, that's a completely scientific probability).
