Issue with exterior trim wearing away. Any advice on how to fix?

Hi all,

see attached photos. the hard rubber exterior trim around my driver side rear window appears to be wearing off, and is showing a white color under the black. I brought it by my Tesla service center and they said it wouldn't be covered under warranty and that I'd be looking at around $500 to replace these two pieces.

Has anyone had this happen and if so, any idea of any product I could pickup for cheap just to get it black again? I am thinking that using a sharpie would look too obviously black.

You can try to restore it yourself. There are a few methods to do it. Easy one is the use of a trim restorer
Others here have pointed out that Amazon has a few Anodize Touch Up Kits. Haven't tried one myself but OP should look at the various options. From what I've read the automatic car washes have harsher presoak chemicals that can damage or discolor the anodized aluminum trim over time.
