Just noticed Pirelli makes a 18" Sottozero 3 tire now!

Yes, on the website the picture it shows is definitely a Sottozero II. Maybe they finally ran out of Sottozero II, and are now using Sottozero 3s, and just haven't updated the website.

That would be nice if true. I planned on waiting till next year to get the package in hope they would probably change to the sottozero 3s

Yeah, no idea, was expecting the sotto series IIs as well, hopefully they will update the website so it’s clear if they really changed to the sottozero 3s

Since there's little chance I'll find these this season, and since I don't have much tread life on my Model 3, I'll probably just go with accelerating my purchase of new All Season tires that offer better snow traction than the originals, see:

Just an FYI, it looks like Michelin improperly labeled a few their CrossClimate+ tires in the 225/60R16 103V XL size that no Tesla owner would have, here's the DOT/NHTSA recall 19T025.

From what I can tell they seem quieter, or at the very least similar. Definitely not noisier though. I've found myself not turning music up as loud to drown out the road noise

I installed TO spec sotto 3s on my 2020 P3D+ last week. I ordered them the first week in Dec, so it appears that Pirelli made another production run before the end of the year. They are at least as quiet as the stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, maybe even quieter. Handling in dry and wet is exactly as I would expect from a performance winter and during drive in some light snow they performed as well as the Pilot Alpin PA4s on my old S4. I can't compared the noise to the sotto 3s without the foam, but they are very quiet for a winter tire.

I had the Tesla 18in winter tire package installed about a month ago, it came with the sottozero 3s

Did it come with sound deadening ones or just the standard?

Actually not sure. I didn’t know at the time it got installed there was a sotto3 version that came with foam inside, so I never thought to ask. I wonder if there a special marking on the outside of the tire that indicates the sound deadening version?
