Kayak & Canoe Tie Down Points

I am exited that I found excellent tie downs that are perfect for the back of the model Y. They have the same thread as the bolts that attach to the bottom of the vehicle so they are very secure at the back. Purchased on Amazon "Lixada 2 Pack Kayak Track Mount Tie Down" stainless steel, has part number Y14120 on the package. Photos attached. It was easy to remove the bolts and put these ones in. At the front of the vehicle I the bolts were too far back so I attached two more tie downs a the top of the front vents in the plastic which is not as solid as into metal, but should be ok for our light kayaks.

Photos attached with two kayaks on the model Y and Malone carriers. The kayaks are Deltas, one 15.5 feet long, the other 17 feet. The ropes cleared the paint on the back and the ropes rub against the nose on the front. Width wise they both fit with no overhang over the side of the car. I hope this helps someone, I had difficulty finding anything on the internet with two kayaks on the Y. They seem very secure.

How did you attach the front ones? I have the same tie down bolts, but I don't see and bolts to remove from the front vents. Did you just drill into the plastic? Thanks

Found this thread and I'm interested if any of you have had any issues with Autopilot/ADAS features when carrying large items on your roof which protrude over the windscreen, particulary if you have tie-downs at the front.
Recently we had a MY owner in the UK transporting a canoe and the AEB triggered unexpectedly at approx. 30 mph when he was joining a motorway. When he showed a clip from the front camera there seems to be a very good chance it was caused by the strap and/or canoe obstructing the front camera, but why AEB chose that moment to trigger we can't say.
Anything you can contribute as to why it happened would be interesting!
Here's the view at the moment his AEB slammed on the brakes.

No issues to date including driving from Somerset to North West Scotland and back.

Note, I am carrying two kayaks so front tie downs are offset from the centre.

The two kayaks carried are both 4.75 meters in length, so do overhang over the bonnet.

Also note I used Thule tie downs which are cord rather than webbing straps, so would be less visible to the cameras. The slack in this picture was tied up in the kayaks.

I did try autopilot and it seemed OK but drove mostly with it off.

Have not carried the kayaks this year.

2022 Model Y MIC no FSD only standard autopilot.
