I just wanted the model 3, HOV is just icing on the cake. Do you have to wait for the license plate to come home before applying for the HOV or can you just do it with the vin?

I saw a bunch of Model 3’s on the freeway today with those awful looking red stickers. My goodness those things are ugly.

Wait for the plate.

Took about two weeks for the plate to arrive for me, then about two months for the HOV decal.

I think the stickers become more attractive per hour saved in LA traffic. Im averaging approx. 10 hours per week reclaimed. Sticker Vanity is unimportant .... to me. Good luck LA!

For me it saves about 20-30 min a day of my time, and tons of my sanity. Although while waiting for the sticker, the autopilot made a big difference in how fatigued I felt sitting in the bumber-to-bumper stop-and-go traffic.

I'm in the Bay Area. We bought this car almost entirely for the HOV sticker. When it expires in 3 years, we will sell the car and buy a new one that is HOV eligible. I save minimum 15-20m per day.
