What is the typical delivery lead time Tesla gives you once a VIN has been assigned? Typically an email?

Lead time after VIN assignment? There is no answer for this. Way too many variables, mostly caused by Tesla mgmt inconsistent timeline. There are numerous threads discussing this, and the answer to your question is...still..."no one knows."

What is the typical delivery lead time Tesla gives you once a VIN has been assigned? Typically an email?

For the US East Coast, cars from the Fremont factory are shipped by train to different hubs.
Then transported locally to a Tesla delivery center where you will get your car.

Now, the Model Y starts also to be shipped from the Austin factory.
The firt three digits of VIN number will tell you the origin.

You might get notification of shipping, sometime also with a VIN number, but the VIN might change.
It seems that the final VIN assignment is only sent when the car is in transit to the delivery center.
You may then receive a time window to get your car, sometime like two days, otherwise the car might be reassigned.
