Yes, exactly. This is only when charging. Otherwise, the entire cord is locked up overnight in the box. It's inconspicuous and reduces risk of vandalism / theft. This was the best solution for our office rather than just having the unit exposed outdoors. We have people sleeping on the side of the building at times. Guess it depends on where you live.

Not sure what the point of this is, unless you're locking the entire cable in the box when not in use. The wall connector is already securely mounted.
