It would be nice to have chargers in those rest areas that had driveup pay phones 10-15 years ago. They all have easy on easy off ramps. Examples are Northern State on both sides near New Hyde Park, Southern State in Amityville at 110 exit, Northern State at Round Swamp Road exit, Expressway near Sagtikos eastbound etc.

Stopped at Valley Stream SC a month or so ago. What a traffic nightmare, never saw anything like it and I grew up on LI.

I believe bc it only had 4 stalls, added traffic to a service center and the local SC have more than double to stalls.

Or are they just removing them from navigation and the Tesla website so they don't get overcrowded?

Not sure. I'd guess they would remain for service, but we won't know until September.
