Tesla just released updated information on new SC locations out to 2018 thanks to the expanded Urban plan. This will be great for day trips out east.

They probably assume Manorville will satisfy that area, but I agree it would be nice to have.

I emailed and shared this info with Supercharge.info, they had nothing on their site as of today.

Yep. Saw the construction this morning (it wasn't there on Wednesday when I passed) at islandia. There's what appears to be 10 stalls, with the east-most stall being a nose-in. Easily accessed from i495 at exit 57, and going east on 454 not even a quarter mile. Make a right at the traffic light at 7-11.

Valley Stream is under construction at Green Acres Mall. They are currently fenced off (and covered in garbage bags) in a parking lot behind Best Buy/near Bronx BBQ. I counted 11 stalls, but I assume they always come in pairs, so maybe a 12th hasn't been installed yet?

You guys do realize that in normal conditions you should never have reason to use a Supercharger that is 10 miles from your home, don’t you? Superchargers are primarily intended to enable road trips, or more recently for city dwellers without access to home or work charging.

I stopped off there last week on the way home and it looks essentially complete. However there was still fencing around the chargers, so I'm not sure what still needs to be done.

On this point - I was at the four stall Syosset supercharger / service center yesterday while down in Long Island. First time I ever had to wait for a charge (it was showing 2/4 in use when I headed there at the time from 20 minutes away). Four NY registered cars charging. One was a new owner coming in for his first supercharge (he needed assistance to get started), and at least one vehicle was a car in for service. A Tesla employee came out unsolicited while I was waiting to move it so I could charge which was much appreciated.

My wait was still about 20 minutes which I was prepared for given past forum posts on this location. It highlights the point @PeterK raises about the intended purpose for superchargers.
