Low speed rear-end - what to look for?

My S just got rear-ended while we were sitting at a traffic light. Some visible damage to the bumper, but not too bad. Wondering if there is anything mechanical with the battery/drivetrain I need to worry about?

Anyone have experience with something similar? Person who hit me wants to pay out of pocket, but I’m concerned about other issues besides the bumper.

Ouch, sorry about the bad luck.

It will be difficult to get complete answers here on a forum. Most things will be anecdotal and may not cover everything. With so much technology in these cars, along with electronics like sensors/etc in the bumper, I would take the time to bring it somewhere to be looked at.

Don't let the other party dictate what you want to do, or rather what you should do. There is almost never any benefit to the victim (you) when the other party wants to pay out of pocket.
