Forgive me if things are different in Canada, but why can't you sell the car privately if it's financed? I've sold quite a few financed cars to private buyers. The buyer just gets two checks: one for the balance of your loan paid to the bank and if there's any extra money then a separate check to you.

From what my bank said: I'll have to pay the rest of the financing at the moment I sell it.

Why not sell the car to the Hyundai dealer and use the proceeds after the loan as your Telsa deposit?

The Hyundai dealer may even be able to cut 2 checks, one to the bank with the loan and the remainder to you. CarMax does it that way and you can walk out same day with a check even if you have a financed car.

    Yes, this is true.

What I always do is have the buyer get me a check for the payoff amount and then a check for any difference. You can fill out a bill of sale and have it notarized when the buyer picks up the car. Then you pay off your bank with the buyer's check and send the buyer (or their bank depending on how they are paying) the title once it is released from your current bank. So in essence you are paying off the existing loan as soon as you sell it, you just have to wait a few days for your bank to release the paperwork to the new buyer. Pretty much the same as when you buy a new car: You don't receive the title and final paperwork until a week or two later.

Been reading this forum since the week I ordered the car. Here is how everything went down for me.

8/13/19 Ordered: White/Black Aero LR AWD FSD
9/17/19: VIN assigned, got text from a delivery specialist
    9/19/19: Took delivery//Costa Mesa

I inquired about the 2yr supercharging as soon as I heard about it on the forum. SA placed a note in my account and it's waiting for approval. Not sure how this is going to play out but I'm hopeful.

    Car Quality:
-Panel Gaps//Everything looks about right. Noticed some small differences in the batch hatch passenger side. Can live with it
-Back Truck, License Plate Holder Upper Section (Wielding Area)//This is where the wield line is. I noticed a small opening about a ball point pen size opening. Brought it to the specialist attention, came back and said it was within variance. I will probably do something on my own to plug it...
-Paint//Pretty damn good, or the detail job was good.
-Interior//Noticed some of the trims were perfectly done...I can live with it...
-Steering Wheel//Noticed that this was about 2 degrees off centered to the right. Not sure if I need to mention this to someone...I might have too.

For anyone waiting, this car is awesome. I am coming from a loud '11 Scion TC as a commuter car. The M3 way quieter. The weekend car is a Lexus ES and I would say it is nearly as quiet as the Lexus. Reason I am saying this is because I don't think all the gaskets people are buying online are really necessary....

    Meant to say:
The trim were NOT perfectly done.

Did you check source code? My VIN # showed up in source code a little before the text to schedule, and showed up on the webpage immediately after I scheduled a time.

The wait is over! Ordered 8/12. Car info in the signature. Picking up tomorrow 9/21 in San Francisco! Was hoping to try to get upgraded wheels with the "incentives", but nothing in inventory so sticking with it. Asked for the 2 years of charging and was verbally told it was added. We will see!

I only see one red one online. Will these others show up over the weekend, or next week? If you know that is. Thanks.

There were 15 at Fremont earlier. Now there seems to be just 3. I don't know the answer but my guess is they are now making them for the US and will probably keep showing up periodically until they switch back to making cars destined for Europe.

    Update 9/20/2019

    • 9/7 - Order placed on website (LR AWD, White/black, aero, no FSD) and got the usual emails from sales rep and delivery specialist
    • 9/9 - Went shopping for auto financing (837 credit score, Six figure income, etc)
      • TechCU - REJECTED (even though I am current customer, WTF) - will send me reason for rejection through mail
      • Lightstream - REJECTED - no reason given
      • Texall - approved for 4.49%
      • Alliant - approved for 4.49%
      • Andrews Federal Credit Union - approved for 3.99% (with GAP insurance)
    • 9/10 - spoke with all the approved credit unions and will be moving forward with Andrews. Super nice, very responsive and easy to work with
    • 9/11 - Submitted paystubs, insurance, drivers license and standard stuff to Andrews
    • 9/12 - On Tesla website I put I will be financing through Andrews
      • Two minutes after I hit submit, I get a text to schedule delivery for 9/24
      • VIN has been assigned (checked through the View Source method)
    • 9/13 - MVPA Recieved - submitted everything to credit union
    • 9/14 - SA confirms 2K Supercharging applied to account
    • 9/15 - Reached out to SA about 2 year supercharging, says this shouldn't be a problem and will get approval from her manager
    • 9/16 - Signed final paperwork with credit union, they cut a check and provided tracking number and photo, I emailed it to delivery specialist. Still on track for 9/24 delivery but could arrive even sooner!
    • 9/17 - Local delivery team emailed me saying all they are waiting on are the temp tags. Once that arrives I can sign for and pick up my car!
    • 9/19 - Temporary tags have arrived like 10 minutes ago. Service center said I might be able to pick up my car tonight after detailing is done. Weather has been on and off raining here in Austin so it might be till tomorrow. Delivery specialist said I COULD pick it up right now if I wanted to but strongly recommends that they let them wax the car and do the job right. I agree.
    • 9/20 - Picked Up Today and just in time for the weekend! Whole process from start to finish was super smooth! Really happy with the Model 3. Going to tint the windows next week!
    Good luck everyone!

8/18 order date. Just got this text from the Big T:

"Tesla Update - Your Model 3 will be exiting the factory and heading to Costa Mesa in the next few days. Please log in to tesla.com/teslaaccount and complete all outstanding tasks within the next 48 hours. We will update you when it is time to schedule your delivery appointment."

But still not VIN....guess I'll check in the morning.
