LTE upgrade, eMMC recall broke GPS, center console

Back in December we bought a 2015 Model S P85D. It worked fine when bought it, but then we took it to the to the Dedham, MA service center for the LTE upgrade and eMMC recall. Immediately after the service, the GPS started giving positions up to half a mile wrong and the center console crashes every week or two. So we took it back to them. They said they'd replace the sd card and wanted to charge us $400. We managed to talk them out of the charge on the grounds that it had been working fine before they broke it doing the other work. So they replaced the sd card for no charge, but also no effect. The problems were the same as before. So we took it back to them again. Now they say they will replace the central computer for between $1200 and $1500, with no credit for the fact that it was working fine before we took it to them the first time.

Any thoughts? We think they broke it and ought to fix it without charging us. We'd be willing to negotiate, but we don't even know how to get someone to negotiate with. Is there any way to reach a person who would have the ability to waive or discount this price and would be willing to listen to our arguments?

Thanks, folks!

So your out of pocket so far is $200 for the LTE upgrade? Unfortunately it sounds like your car does need the MCU2 upgrade. For some reason, there have been several reports of problems that start after the eMMC recall work. At this point, perhaps just ask for best price on new MCU. It provides a better experience but will cost more if you want to retain FM and Sirius.
