M3 break ins in canada?

I’ve seen a few posts and videos about thieves breaking the small rear windows of model 3’s in california. Is there history about this in canada? I live in Kitchener and kinda worried about this.

There’s not much point worrying. Car thieves break into cars. Not much you can do about it unless you have a secured garage.

When we lived in the city, my Maza was broken into once and my wife’s Civic was broken into several times. I live in the country now with little crime, but a neighbour kid broke into another neighbour’s car last year.

With the sentry mode, I think the Tesla is at less risk, although that assumes that car theirs are knowledgeable and rational, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Kind of a silly post. Cars get broken into everywhere. It's more a reflection of where you live, not what you drive.

True. Sentry mode is a charm. It would be great if m3 would trigger alarm when the glass breaks.

If you want any statistics, I suggest you contact your local police. Car breakins are highly variable based on location. National numbers wouldn’t be helpful if you live in an area that is different from the national average.

If it helps - although it shouldn’t - I’m in the KW area and have had a Model S for about 18 months. No issues with break ins or anything of that nature....

Also have a Model 3 in Kitchener for a year now without issue. I often park it in downtown garages overnight to charge, and live downtown. Sentry mode hasn't even captured anyone looking as far as I can tell. It doesn't seem to be a major issue.

I just park away from everything and have sentry mode on. No issues living in Kitchener and i've had my car since May 24th 2018

My 3 was keyed across three panels at St Mary's hospital back in November. And it was a Sat evening between 8-10pm. Haters are everywhere....

Yes I am more fearful of scum vandals, idiots parking 6 inches away from your car and door dinging it and errant loose shopping carts blowing in the wind and slamming into the car. Thieves not so much.
