Marietta GA Tesla Sales Manager

Two weeks ago I drove to Marietta and took a test drive and he was the ONLY one who could offer assistance. I waited more than an hour just to get some time with him. Two others in the office assisted by answering some questions, but it was as if they had no authority and had to defer everything to him. Possibly he just needs some assistance???? You might want to talk with Chris Kummer (954.937.2400) he is the Senior Delivery Specialist.

I think you may misunderstand the Marietta Service Center. It was clearly a SC when I picked up my P85 in June. I had to either go to Chicago or Dania Beach FL. to go to a store. Cale couldn't even talk about sales to people who walked in while I was picking up my car due I think to GA dealership laws. Unless things have charged dramitacally since then and this is now really a store you probably need to go directly through the web. Even in Chicago the store personnel did not "sell" and merely discussed options and confirmed on the Internet. I do not the Marietta location is listed as both now but when you click on the specific location it comes up as a service center. Having been to both it looks like a service center to me but maybe ElSupreme can clarify further

I assume it is a store and SC as I was able to go on a test drive one lucky day a month ago as someone no showed their appointment. since then I have emailed, left a message, put a deposit down online on an X and requested a drive time over the web. with no response from Cale or Marietta I have to wonder what things will be like when I really need service. it's a bit disheartening to hear that my experience may be the norm and not the exception. any truth to the rumors of a store at Lenox?

Cale is the rep that I dealt with and test drove the Tesla with in Atlanta a few months ago. I personally found him to be extremely nice and very accommodating. He did follow up with me about a week after the test drive and we had a number of email and phone call discussions after that. There was one time when he did not get back with me when I sent him an email but I left a voicemail the next day and he called me back in less than 10 minutes. Obviously if he is swamped he may not be able to get back to everyone as soon as possible would like or expect but I do not think it would be intentional based on the limited amount of interaction I had with him. He even went so far as to check into available new cars and loaners that were at other centers and could be purchased immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and actually plan on sending an email to Tesla in California about what a good experience I had with him. He could be overwhelmed though. He was really busy when I was there. I went in on labor day weekend on a Saturday afternoon with an appointment. As we were walking out to look at and test drive the car a man and his wife pulled up in a Lexus and he got out and was extremely excited about looking at, test driving, and buying a Tesla. I knew they were booked for the weekend because they had already had to work me in with a weeks notice due to the fact that they were overbooked. I really needed to look at one on that weekend since it's a 2 1/2 hour drive for me and I was going to be in Atlanta already during that time. Cale told that man that he would be happy to show him the car after our appointment was over even though I know it was going to be after their normal hours on a Saturday evening on a holiday weekend. To me that is exceptional customer service.

Service will be no issue. My 12 volt died a couple of weeks ago late on a Friday and the car was undriveable. Anthony helped me figure out what was wrong with the car late that day and then picked up the car and left me a loaner the following morning. With respect to sales, my understanding is that the Store will open in the coming months and even the service center will be expanded to accomodate the increased traffic.

There's an official Tesla MS Test Drive Event today from 10AM-5PM at the Marietta Store/SC. I'm sure they've brought in some sales people from other locations to assist. They did that for the Tampa event in July. Anyway, if you have an opportunity, today might be a good day to drop by...

I was just over at the SC this morning to get some service bulletins taken care of (before I take a road trip up to NH for Thanksgiving!).

Anthony showed me around the new sales office they are building in one of the neighboring suites, which should be done in a month or two. Right now, Cale is operating out of a tiny desk in the corner of the front office of the SC, so that should be a good upgrade for him. Anthony also pointed out the new sales guy, Brandon, had just started a few weeks ago. I'm assuming they'll be making some more sales hires in the coming months once the office is open.

The sales operation in Atlanta is a little haphazard, but Tesla's working to correct that soon. They may still even open up the store in Lenox they had planned before.

Ok so I finally got a reply for a test drive from another sales manger. He said weekends are booked until mid December. No problem I replied and asked to be scheduled in January. No reply. So I inquired again. No reply.

I guess I'll try again later while Tesla Marietta farts around with junior salesmen.

Anyone have feedback on their sales manager from the Marietta, GA showroom? I have been working with Cale, but he doesn't know how to return emails or phone calls. I'd prefer to work with someone else.

Cale has been spot on with me. If he is delayed responding to you maybe I am the cause as I have been wearing him out with emails and questions. Honestly I think he and Brandon have been awesome over the last month. As a result I am picking up my Red P85 Wednesday!!!!

I would say until the store opens  a few doors down next month they are very strapped for time.

I,too, had some lapses with Cale but I certainly understand the number of requests he is trying to field as they open the new showroom. However, I hope your delivery experience goes better than mine. I am going back Friday morning for a second attempt at delivery. The first time there were issues with paint and a totally inoperable 17". I have been driving (and driving the HECK out of) a beautiful loaner for the past week, but I am REALLY anxious to get MY Model S. Chris, the Delivery Specialist, has done his best to "make this right" and so far I am satisfied with the outcome. I will be really disappointed if it is not 100% A OK for this trip down though.
@ilovtesl How do you think we could best "help" Tesla in Georgia???

Did it look like swirl type patterns?
No, not really, it looked like the paint was orange-peeled. It was kind of hard to tell though since the SC had the car covered in wax when i saw it. They were in the process of getting it ready for pickup when they noticed it. I thought it was wonderful that they did not try to pawn it off on me without my knowledge. When they found it, they chose to correct it. Excellent way to do business. Even better way to get REPEAT business! Yes, I was disappointed that I could not get my car on the scheduled date, but I was glad they were going to make it right. Besides, a free week of riding around in an almost identical loaner to learn all the ins and outs...well, let's just say the disappointment is not as bad as it was on day one.
