Tesla Model X Ultimate Protection Project

We had another Tesla Model X in the shop recently, this time for our ultimate protection service. This service combines our custom full body LLumar Clear Bra wrap with a variety of exclusive Modesta Glass Coatings.

We started off with an extensive wash and chemical decontamination process to remove all dirt and grime and properly prepare the surface for the clear bra application.

We gave the paintwork five isopropyl alcohol wipe downs to ensure no dust would be present under the film. The body seems were also cleaned with our steamer to further ensure a perfect install.

The LLumar Clear Bra installation involved covering the entire body, wrapping and tucking the film wherever possible to create a seamless look.

After the body was covered in film we inspected every panel with our Scangrip LED lights. Once we had signed off on everything we applied our favorite coating, Modesta BC-04 Nano-Titanium Glass Coating to the entire body to bring gloss and ease of mainatence to a different level. The wheels were also treated to a thick layer of Modesta's high temperature wheel coating, BC-09.

After the vehicle was complete, it was ready to take on whatever the roads might throw at it.

So you applied a clear bra and then put a glass coating on it?
How does the clear bra compare to XPel? And the glass coating to OptiCoat?
And wouldn't you coat it then cover it???

Don't know about these poducts but if you do both XPEL and OptiCoat the XPEL is done first.

For this installation we applied LLumar top coated self healing clear bra to the entire body then applied Modesta BC-04 over the top to increase gloss and make the film even easier to maintain moving forward. Glass coatings like Modesta basically act as an addition barrier over the film. I like to think of clear bra as the heavy duty base layer of protection which adds rock chip and scratch resistance while the coating layer is there to bring durable gloss and make future cleaning much less time consuming.

To answer for questions on how they compare to Xpel and OptiCoat:
1. Xpel is also a self healing film which we have installed, our reason for using LLumar in this particular instance is that this film has the same great stain and scratch resistance but paired with improved clarity and a less textured finish. This in my option improves the overall esthetics of the installation
2. Modesta is a completely different type of coating than OptiCoat. Modesta is a Japanese engineered silica based glass coating. A small lab in Japan produces these coatings with the highest grade raw materials. Modesta coatings produce an absolutely brilliant finish with protection characteristics that last. We have over the years installed a variety of coatings and Modesta by far has taken our expectations to a completely different level. Modesta installers are a very small group with only 30 nationwide, but make up some of the most talented detailers in the industry,
