Mobile service Windshield replacement

Has anyone had their windshield replacement done through mobile service? What are your thoughts and how was your experience?

I don't think windshield replacements are done via mobile tech. You have to bring the car in for that.

That’s what I thought. I was trying to change my appointment on the app (it only let’s me make a mobile appointment) to a service center appointment and they sent me a message that it can be done at home.

If they're saying it can be done at home maybe I'm mistaken. When I had my windshield replaced, I had to bring it in.

I am a little hesitant since I’ve been reading that it is supposed to not be a one-man job. I just don’t know what to expect.

With the right equipment, it can be a one man job. Safelite uses a telescoping arm with suction cups that hold an entire windshield to allow a single technician to replace a windshield. Maybe Tesla is doing a similar thing.

Had it done on model 3 in my garage. Tesla referred me to a 3rd party claiming they did not have the part. Excellent job Calibration was done automatically by the car while driven

Thank you for this info! I know Safelite knows what their doing, it’s just hit or miss with Tesla so I’m hoping fot the best!
