Model 3 Glass Roof Sunshade

Has anyone used the Glass Roof Sunshade from Tesla for the front? I find on sunny days here in SoCal that the heat load in the car is high even with full ceramic tint on my entire car.

Yes. It's not pretty but it definitely helps with the sun-in-your-eye that was driving me nuts and I feel like it's really helped with thermals as well.

I've had mine for about a year. I don't have any tint. It makes a difference in comfort when the sun is high overhead. I told myself I was going to take it off when the weather cooled down, but just left it in place because it's completely unobtrusive to me.

I have the Tesla one and have never used it. I got mine tinted and it's never really been too bad since.

I just bought this one. I’m absolutely amazed at the quality and fit. The front fits so snug that you don’t even need the clips and the back fits great but needs a few clips because of how big it is.

Wow that's a really good deal for both top and rear. I paid $70 for just the top from Tesla.

As for the shade itself, the glass reflects a lot of the direct heat but the glass itself really gets hot. You can feel the heat radiating off of it like a giant heat sink. The shade blocks that heat really well.

I have had them for the last 2 months here in Florida and luv it. I proffered not to tint as it gives me the option of removing it in winter.

From Post #4: The back shade are shorter without blocking the rear view. IMO I don't think I like the longer one (Post #7) when i'm driving at night.

I bought the Tesla shade and have been using it the last month or so. I agree that it helps with the glare and heat.

We did a test last year and the shade does help. We had 4 Model 3 AWD in the office. We kept checking our interior temperature on our apps throughout the day. The car with the glass roof shade reached 105 last. But then after that it doesn't matter as all the car have AC on to kept at 105. LOL.

No experience with third party shades. The Tesla one is a perfect fit. No rattling, which is what I was most worried it would do.

I have one for 2 wks. Most notable now is much less glare. Temp don't know. Because In Socal only 2 days ago when we truly experienced summer temp. Summer came extreme late this year.

I use the front & back roof sunshades at all times. No problems. Cheaper than tint, removable, looks good and does the job.

I have 30% tint on the top glass and just bought a set off of amazon. Took a 200 mile trip yesterday in the middle of the day in Texas and it made a huge improvement to how hard the AC was working. Will most likely keep them installed through the summer.

As a Texan I find anyone in California complaining about the heat laughable.

Lot of desert east and northeast of SoCal (Mojave Desert) ... and try driving through Death Valley during summer (where's the cattle skull emoji when you need it LOL) ...
