Model 3 (Highland) tow hitch install after delivery

Hello all.
I've received an email from Tesla indicating that my ordered M3 RWD with tow hitch would be delivered without the tow hitch. The tow hitch would be installed (free of charge) at a later TBD date.

As anyone experienced this situation?

Before ordering I specifically asked the sales person if it's possible to install the tow hitch after getting the standard M3 and they said no, that I'd have to order it like that.
So I'm a bit confused by this situation.

You can't even order a M3H with a tow hitch right now, so I'm guessing that's why you're being told it'll be installed later. They likely don't have the hardware for it available yet.

Tesla delivered cars without the tow hitch installed and will be installed in the near future.
What I gathered from this is that every Model 3 (highland) is tow hitch compatible and is not necessary to order it with the tow hitch.

I was told at the time of ordering that I needed to order it with tow hitch but it's a false information. Tesla is just not installing them after ordering but a 3rd party can do it.
