"Off subject" - Just as a test regards batteries did you know that a Full AA battery bounces higher than a Dead one? Good quick way to see if a Battery is dead or not but you need a known dead battery to test with, Try it by dropping a full & dead battery on the negative end about 15cm above a hard surface together and you will be surprised!

Edit - it might be the other way around and the dead bounces higher!

Princeton university actually tested the dead battery bounce theory and found maximum bounce at about 50% charge. Can’t remember the full details but it was along the lines that a non-rechargeable battery has a jelly like structure and a dead one is more like a ceramic and as the battery discharges you end up with gaps and bridges that makes the battery more springy. Not sure why I remembered this but might have been on a TV programme or a nomination for an ignobel prize
