Tepid review is the "worst" one yet. Like he was required to say something negative for everything positive, even if he had to make it up.

He said Tesla got a 'significant federal subsidy' instead of a DOE loan. There is a difference.

I posted a comment but not sure if he'll see it. It's often hard to find an e-mail address for these authors to send feedback and it's a video so he's not going to edit that out I bet. I'll see if I can e-mail him. An ok review but I agree, did seem to want to nitpick.

He did bring up some valid points like wanting to have the keyfob open the charge door but he seemed to have run into issues I've never heard about. Has anyone else had the car stop when going in reverse because they lifted too far off of the seat?

I think he was trying to get the car to stop on purpose knowing the seat sensor is there. Who lifts their butt while driving? I for one am glad it stops if you get out in drive.

I agree with most of what he raised regarding the "unfinished" interior.

In the second video, he does come around to mention that most "annoying" features can be fixed with an OTA update.

But, not so for the lack of interior storage ...

Thanks, I have seen many reviews from this guy and he is usually extremely stone-faced so it cracked me up to see him with a tesla grin

This is an interesting note from the article.

In the Model S's case, the car will eventually be sold with a choice of three batteries, one EPA-rated with a 120-mile range, another good for 180-miles, and the 265-mile model currently in production.

Good that the 40 kWh pack is over 100, but was hoping the 60 kWh would have hit 200.

Strange that this contradicts MotorTrend's 140 miles, 200 miles and 265 miles - all in range mode (as 265 is, for sure).

I can imagine standard mode yielding 120 miles for 40 kWh and 180 miles for 60 kWh but, not in range (extended) mode.

For Consumer Reports this is a quite extraordinary review. It's far more positive than CR tends to be, and in some cases almost gushing, which is very unusual for CR. But then again, Model S is a truly extraordinary car and car people get that almost instantly when they drive it.

I attempted to post a comment on this article that was critical of its quoting John Peterson's analysis. I pointed out in the comment Peterson's clear conflict of interest. Guess what? They refused to publish it. This is really a rag site for wannabe analysts. The quality of the writing and analysis is incredibly inconsistent.
