Model S sticky rear mirror housing

My Model S 2017 inside rear mirror housing (black, rubber) has becpme very sticky and gummy and cannot be cleaned with plain water. Has anybody had the same situation and can identify remedies for the sticky situation. I'm sure most owners don't place their hands onto the mounting housing, but it is nasty and soft to the touch. Any solutions and remedies? TIA. Hotrodder.

On Porsche interior bits that get sticky, I have found that GooGone worked well to remove the gumminess. I would just be very careful with it and make sure it isn’t stripping it down all the way. On the radio knobs it worked perfect.

I have solved this problem by cleaning the object with rubbing alcohol and a cloth. Sticky goes away. Very safe. Easy.

Goo GOne did not work . some surface goo could be scraped off, but the sticky-ness remained. Will try alcohol later today.
