Yeah, but after 12K miles? If the brake pads/rotors actually need replacement that soon, then something is seriously wrong (probably a warranty issue). I would definitely take this to Tesla for a second opinion. If the shop says replace them…then replace them…no one wants to get into an accident after you were told your brakes are defective
Wasn’t a “shop…”If the shop says replace them…then replace them…no one wants to get into an accident after you were told your brakes are defective
Just a guess, are the rotors rusty from lack of use?Is this normal? Car has 12k miles on it, planning to get a second opinion and also ask Tesla to evaluate.
Annual NY state inspection
That's why I'm getting a second opinion. If the shop says replace them…then replace them…no one wants to get into an accident after you were told your brakes are defective
I'm shocked!Update: Tesla verified there's nothing wrong with the pads/rotors (as we assumed all along).
Was that good enough to pass the inspection?Update: Tesla verified there's nothing wrong with the pads/rotors (as we assumed all along).
Is this even possible any more? It seems like they removed the "standard" and "low" regen settings years ago.My suggestion is reducing regen settings during the winter so the brakes get used more and they get swept clean every drive.
Oh no, it is an option on my SR+ M3 but I believe you're right and it has been removed for the Model Y. I suppose you can use the Brake Burnishing mode in the Service Menu but that's not so convenient. Is this even possible any more? Well I have a 2018 Model 3 (LR RWD though) and it's been gone for years (unless they just moved it somewhere and I can't find it). Odd that it would be an option on a very specific model!Oh no, it is an option on my SR+ M3 but I believe you're right and it has been removed for the Model Y. SC can't do the inspection, this was just to get a 2nd opinion as I was sure I was being ripped off.Was that good enough to pass the inspection?
Can the SC give you the sticker you need?
