Checked the code on my account page and I have a VIN now. 68XX series, so it might be a while before I get mine. I've pinged my account rep to check to see if this is the actual VIN as I'm still holding on insurance since it requires a VIN number. What is in the 8th position if you have ordered an AWD non-performance? I have an 4. I'm assuming we are counting left to right.
Man, all this news and still waiting for a VIN. (Been searching source since factory re-opened, but no joy.)
Got a VIN Monday (via source code) and spoke to local delivery specialist yesterday that said the car is in California and sometime between late may and the end of June the car should be here for delivery. Should be a big push for deliveries by end of quarter.I'm in the same boat. Keep reviewing the source code and nothing but the RN. I even chatted with a Delivery Specialist yesterday and they can't shed any insight on when a VIN will appear. Hopefully production will ramp up and some will be shipped to the East coast.
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share my exciting news....I got the call today, at work of course, that my model Y was ready for pick-up!
I had last received a call from Tesla on May 1st to "check in" and see when I could take delivery of the car. I am fortunate enough to be able to take delivery ASAP and told the guy from Tesla this.
I then received the "Delivery Update" generic email May 13th thanking me for completing my Model Y order. Even though I maxed out on the steps online months ago....
So now, I have a VIN assigned, an appointment set, and I am beyond excited.
I pick up my car Tuesday at 10am. I'm getting a LR AWD Deep Blue, 19" gemini wheel, black interior with FSD.
I appreciate this blog and hearing about other members experiences/deliveries and hope it's ok to share my experience as well!
Congrats! How is the paint quality? Have heard there have been paint issues and am waiting for these to be ironed out before ordering mine!
I have been following this forum for a while and to be honest, I was really nervous about how my build quality would be. I can now say I am super impressed with the car quality over all! No big gaps, no misaligned panels, the only paint issue is at a joint in the back (picture included).
The only other thing is one of the rear seats doesn't fold down when you click the button in the back. I found this out while doing my check through at the Tesla center. Part has been ordered and service appointment should be scheduled soon for that.
Overall very happy with the car!!
Glad to hear you didn't have any major quality issues that won't be addressed. There is hope for those of us that have yet to receive our cars. Yours is exactly what I have ordered. When did your order yours?
My VIN is in the 5,000s
I'm 56XX to be more specific. Hoping for the best for your car too!!!Mine is 58XX. Crossing my fingers for no major issues!
