I own a Model Y 2022 I’m trying to connect to the car to see if it’s successful so I can get the toolbox 3 for a day I configured the Ethernet as so.

Then when I goto chrome and goto test via 192.168.90.100:8080

I get 404 not found is this normal and Can I still access it via toolbox 3 if I buy it ?

I have never heard of a Tesla car having a web server. Do you have any information about this you could point me to? My guess is you're getting a 404 error because the web server doesn't exist but I'd love to be wrong.
So i pretty much followed DIY Tesla repair video with the title how to setup a laptop to use Tesla Toolbox 3 he gets this page.
What i get is a response of 404 not found its better than no connection at all i guess?
Then he goes he allows chrome insecure content for tesla toolbox and finally connects to it.

Wow! Thank you. I found this video from WeberAuto:

Tesla Toolbox 3 Service and Diagnostic Software

The say the cable costs $100 but now the price is around $12 on ebay.

I agree with you that a 404 error is much better than no response. Did you have to subscribe to Tesla service information or to their Tesla toolbox 3 software?

I think this is the video you used:

If the url starts with "https" then the browser is trying to make a secure connection which will most likely fail as explained in the video.

Hey I haven’t yet because I’m trying to get the car to connect to port 8080 like the video, I will get ToolBox 3 once I get that working.

For Tesla’s that use the new Ryzen chip a normal Ethernet works you connect one end to the laptop the other to the car which is below the steering wheel, for Intel ones they have to purchase the special cable that you mentioned.

I know for sure that it’s somehow connected to the car because when I unplug the Ethernet goto the ip address with port 8080 there is no connection at all

When I plug it in again hit refresh it’s a 404 not found.

Now I’m wondering okay it’s connected so maybe if I just purchase ToolBox 3 it will connect and work right cause the car is responding maybe that page in the video is not needed ?

From what I've seen I don't think so. You need to get to the web server as shown in the video before you can give it the credentials from the subscription. Have you checked the url in your browser? It should start with "http:" not "https:".

I plan to check my 2021 non-Ryzen MY and buy the cable, but I think you will get it solved before I get the cable.
