Model Y UK Windscreen Replacement Cost

Does anyone in the UK know what the current cost to replace a windscreen is with Tesla directly on a Model Y?

Unless there is someone on here who has had a new windscreen, creating a service request is your best bet.

Based on the costs for this in the U.S. I'd say you're probably looking at around £1.5k though, so go through insurance.

From what i'd read model 3 in the uk where around £900, surprised no ones had a replacement on a model y yet.

At least Tesla have Y screens in stock, unlike M3 for a long time.

I have to say on two journeys I have some serious stones hit the front screen and it’s left hardly any damage just a slight dot the screens must be some sort of extra durable!

I looked into it a while ago when mine got damaged £1200 was a figure i found but i cant promise it is correct. Paid insurance company excess of £100 and had them do it.

They are not extra durable. . You have just been lucky. I recommend getting the dots checked and if necessary filled before they turn into cracks.

Model 3 Dec 2022. Hit by a small stone about 3" from top of windscreen. It the cracked to the top edge and then crept down about a foot. Connected to insurance web site, which asked was it an accident claim or windscreen problem. Clicked on windscreen and was redirected to Autoglass web site. Input car registration and was given appointment in 8 days. Crack was hidden by the rear view mirror from the drivers side and so out of line of sight. Could continue driving. Screen changed by Autoglass which took about 4 hours to allow glue to set. Cameras recalibrated by Autoglass. £75 excess plus £49 for new wiper blades (my choice). Very efficient and no problems.

It was fitted by Autoglass. I am assuming it is a genuine part but not sure. If its not I cannot tell the difference. Some service centres have been known to outsource windsceen replacement to Autoglass anyway.

£50 for wipers is robbery. You can buy the same blades for half that and they take seconds to fit
