Modifying Tesla SAE J1772 adapter to fit SAE Combo

As many folks may already know, Tesla’s SAE J1772 Charging Adapter does not fit onto a SAE Combo plug since there is no space on the bottom of the J1772 portion of the Combo plug for the plastic retaining clip of the Tesla adapter. Now there may also be other incompatibility issues and they may be specifically designed not to work together but for a layman like me that was the most obvious problem. Has anyone dremeled off the plastic clip and successfully charged?

This can't possibly work. The two large DC charging pins won't connect to anything. The remaining pins on the "normal" section do not carry any current for charging (they are just the control pins and earth ground).
Yep. While it might be theoretically possible to build CCS chargers that also support AC charging via the top half of the plug, this doesn't make any sense since the CCS plug wouldn't fit into any J1772-only port anyway.
