There you go. I did not know the 3 gave an indication when heating the battery. As you say it uses the motors in waste heat mode. That aside I doubt Leeroy's car was cold soaked and in need of battery heat when he was at Buller.
Sorry, am not getting alerts anymore to this thread….. I only bought up the battery heating as I got the regen alert but the battery heater didn’t turn on prior. Could have been on the cusp I guess. That said, I do tend to agree with you, not enough cold soak for the mass, plus probably plenty of heat from the hill climb.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t think the battery heater worked unplugged either but I turn on the climate prior to getting to the car at work where it is unplugged and it has occasionally come on.
