Mud flaps or PPF, which is better?

Hearing the little gravels hit the bottom of the car isn't a good feeling. Which is a better route for protection?
I did both. The mud flaps I installed don't protect against all debris thrown up by the tires, so I also covered the rockers. It's about $200 if you DIY. That's for the rocker and the dogleg and the lower part of the door, below the crease. All those areas will get pelted by the tires. If you DIY, the rocker pieces are large, so having another person to help, will help. Also, you'll need to get on your back to apply it. I tilted one side up with some rhino ramps to make accessing it easier.

I had Xpel PPF installed when I took delivery of my P3D in December of 2018. Almost 3 years and 26K miles later, the rocker panels have zero chips, scratches, or blemishes. IMO PPF works and is worth the investment if you are concerned about rock chips.
