I sort of agree with this. The wrap i would do again. Ceramic, not too convinced. My friend has the 3 as well and only got ceramic. He has a bunch of chips on the front. Mainly due to the huge front bumper (no grill). The wrap gives me piece of mind and it also has a guarantee if a rock kicks up and causes any damage, 3M pays for repairs.
You absolutely do not NEED to get PPF or ceramic coating, no matter how many people on here tell you to do so :)

It's pretty darn expensive and doesn't really add/maintain a significant amount of resale value.

Vinyl wraps on interior/exterior is nice and all, but keep in mind they will eventually peel and not look so great one day (just like phone wraps if you've ever used one of those). They're a bit cheap feeling/looking IMO, especially on this type of car.

Agree with both of this.

But I do the front of all of my cars (last 4 to be exact) & have gotten good compliments upon resale.

So it definitely doesnt hurt whether it adds any value - hard to say but it doesn't reduce value.
Ceramic - this will be my first car & I am doing it myself for the windshield on back.

I want to see if it can last 1+ year & what does it really do for protection & ease of wash & routine appearance maintenance.

Here's what I found enhanced my M.3 & what I went in order of purchase & priority:
1) Front end PPF platic wrap
2) Additional tint on roof down rear windows
3) Heat rejection tint for side windows @ 35%
4) Maxpider cabin mats (shout out to formytesla.com for quick delivery)
5) Maxpider frunk/trunk mats - based on #4's performance - but they haven't been delivered due to backlog.
6) Center console wrap - protect protect protect

Word about forum vendors. Since Tesla is such a new entity- some of these forums vendors are also new to selling & customer service.
So if you get a discount code just make sure the item is in stock & you temper your expectations for delivery timing.
Speaking from experience, it's NOT an Amazon like: items fail to be labeled as OOS but they still take your order, charge your card & don't return emails.
Or they use the slowest delivery service to send you decals - really? - does it take the USPS more than a week to deliver decals or is it because you use UPS Innovations to gunk up things?

So sometime that discount code isn't worth the delivery delays.

As a person that does his own detailing (for fun). I found that ceramic suggestion is interesting. I've never tried them yet, but after reading from forums and such, it only protects the car from micro scratches and nothing more. On the DIY part, I think most ceramic are not as forgiving. If it is done right, it should last quite a few years.

Yes I wouldn’t really count on the scratch protection as the main reason to do it. It’s the fact that paint contamination - the type that you usually have to use clay for - doesn’t stick as well, so maintenance washes become practically touchless. You can get outstanding results with just a quick rinse, even better if you use soap. And drying is also much less work because the water beads up and runs off. Car stays looking great with less effort. It’s hard to appreciate the difference unless you’ve lived with and detailed the same car with and without ceramic, but it’s night and day.

As far as DIYing it, it does require some care (not quite as simple as applying any old wax or sealant but not rocket science either). Superb lighting and plenty of good microfiber towels are important. Again, not beyond the realm of an experienced DIYer if you don’t mind watching a few videos and putting some care into it, and find the time invested pleasurable.

Holders for sunglasses for which I could not make up my mind and used one of each.

Yes. unfortunately USPS do sometimes take more than a week to deliver (we don't take pre-orders by the way, everything on our site is in stock). Many times they never scan it.

Full disclosure, I'm a bit grumpy today, but here's the honest reality. Amazon provide a great customer experience. Like almost everyone here, I use them weekly, if not daily. But as a seller on Amazon, it's a rough ride. Their awesome customer service is often at the cost of the seller. They also have massive leverage over the carriers, so Amazon get 2 day air for less than the rest of us can buy Ground. so if you judge every online store against Amazon, it's a tough sell. To ship a $9.99 decal, it costs us $2.61 for shipping, a dollar for the stayflat mailer, then there's material, production costs and pick/pack/ship on top. So yes, if the order value is low, it still ships for 'free', but it's going to be using a slower service. What you do get from us and others is deep product knowledge and service, and a good product, because we take it personally, own the car(s) and not just a commodity seller.

I totally get that some people are just looking for the lowest price, and Amazon are great for that on brand-name products, but beware of the clone products.

Peace and love :)

ive wrap the both my Tesla just front end , has saved me from rocks and twice hit in the front and only damaged wrap not bumper or paint. ceramic not needed i think. whatever you think and do is what is best for your car

I posted this in another thread but thought it might be helpful here as well. My favorites are the mats, wireless charger and sun shades.

These are the accessories that I have installed. I spent a considerable amount of time researching before buying. I have been very pleased with all of them. Paid some "get it now" fees but happy overall.
