Mystery piece (now identified) found inside my 1.5

I recently found this mysterious piece resting unattached to anything beneath the center console section where the handbrake lever is located. It appears to be made of aluminum. I have no idea what it is or if it is supposed to be attached somewhere on my 1.5. Anyone recognize it?

Looks the end cap cover for the parking brake handle.

Bingo! You are correct. It fits there perfectly. I never realized that my handbrake lever was missing that piece.

It appears to be just a rather insecure pressure fit. When I pushed it into place it moves easily and I can envision it coming off easily.
