Necessary Accessory?

This is the first car I have bought that doesn’t have a spare tire. Tire air pressure is also an important part of the range equation.

So I bought a battery operated portable air compressor. Using an older air compressor that worked by attaching a cigarette adapter for power I had to add some air, stop and check, add more air repeatedly for each tire.

No more. This little gadget auto shuts off at target PSI and no wire hanging out of the window. Also comes with a LED light.

Cool. Cordless and auto pump to set pressure. I wonder if it will do four tires on a charge. Thanks for sharing.

Good to know. Check out this review of portable tire inflators,then decide. Small portable inflators are good for adding a couple of pounds of pressure to a tire but would take a long time to fully inflate a flat tire. Also, the portable inflators will get hot after just a few minutes, may overheat.

I have the Milwaukee M12 inflator and it’s a beast with the 4Ah battery, can go from scratch to 42 PSI twice in a few minutes, and stops to pressure automatically. My only gripe is the device shape is more for the shop than the trunk, but in all my EV years I’ve used inflators 100% of times at home.
