If you're concerned about the battery, have the seller turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and walk to the passengers side front wheel. There is a white label just visible on the battery pack behind the tire. Have him send you a picture of that label. It will give you a bunch of good information on battery pack revision, size and a serial number you can narrow down to a date.

Putting the VIN in here teslatap.com/vin-decoder/ may provide some useful info. But you really need to know how Tesla views the vehicle i.e. does it have supercharger access and is the drivetrain still under warranty. Tesla will typically revoke these if they believe a car has sustained too much damage. However, I would not start the phone call to Tesla with "This car was in an accident....".
