I have the discontinued NEMA 14-50 WC unit. It is heating up and reduces charging rate from 40A to 30A to 15A within 20-25 minutes. I changed the 14-50 receptacle to Hubbell (as once recommended by Tesla) - still the same issue. In the same outlet, my UMC with the 14-50 pigtail draws 32A till charging is complete.
The 14-50 pigtail with UMC is warm at 32A, but the NEMA14-50-WC's pigtail is HOT at 40A or 30A, and at 15A has similar level of warmth as the UMC pigtail at 32A. I suspect that the NEMA14-50-WC is faulty.
Has anyone received warranty work done for this unit? Now that the unit is discontinued what should I expect? Did you go through Request Service through the App, or go to the local Tesla shop, or just call the Tesla number?
