Leviton has made significant upgrades to their NEMA 14-50 receptacle. Details in the article.

This appears to make it roughly equivalent to Hubbell, Cooper and Bryant brand receptacles, both in cost and durability.

My 1450R came without the cute EV logo, which appears on the Hubbell and Leviton product marketing pages.

More importantly, UL and other testing for NEMA 14-50 have nothing specific to address the EV loads and higher insertion rates compared to appliances. So, we have marketing claims with no standards to put meaning to a recognizable EV logo, which will be nice to have so we can see that we have the Leviton 1450R/W vs. a "279" Leviton receptacle.

Electricians are driven by the NEC, so be sure to require a quality receptacle from your electrician [Hubbell HBL9450A etc.], who will bid appropriately vs. using a sketchy HomeDepot spare they have in the van.

Even without the logo, my 1450R is working. But that's not the history the Hubbell / Bryant parts have.
