I've wanted to write a few twitter rants over the last couple weeks because I'm just so frustrated with the delivery process for a state without a service center (thus far). I know everyone says it's worth all the headaches in the end, and to that I've remained patient but at the same time....my car is in a state so close I could be there and back with it in a day and yet...I wait.
3/31/16 - Reserved online
4/13 - Invited to configure
4/15 - Configured, 3-6 week delivery estimate
Week of 4/16 - June delivery delay email
5/29 - Received call that the car is en route, am told to get financing in order or it will be held up in Alabama (Arkansas? I already forget), if everything stays on track I should have it between 15-18th. Got all my applications in and selected a bank by June 1.
6/5 - Have all paperwork signed, with a loan close date of 6/8 (earliest we could get to the bank), am told it's in NJ
6/8 - Get a call informing me that during final inspection (software update, glove box fix), broken window was discovered (not sure what window). Would either be repaired with clear fill or replaced, 2-3 week minimum to receive the replacement part if so. Tells me not to close on financing yet.
6/13 - Tells me window is fine (?!) and never actually had anything wrong with it. Now requires manager sign off because an issue had been reported with it.
6/18 - Still waiting on managerial sign-off?! Then the car has to be scheduled with a contract company which will be...when??
Ugh, can't help but feel that they aren't being super truthful because it shouldn't take this long for someone to give the OK on it? And that it's been sitting for no reason. I just want my sweet, sweet ride! At least it doesn't have to stop in Dedham (or so I'm told)
So, can any other NH (or VT/ME) folks commiserate? Was your experience similar? How long from final-sign-off to delivery was it for you?
