Not that I plan to use it much, but happened to notice no option to change the regen braking levelon my 2020 MS P? On 2023.20.7. I could have sworn it was there when I last messed with it maybe a couple of years ago.

Thanks, but it’s present on a colleagues 2020 LR car also on the same software rev? I asked him to check before I posted above.
They brought the option back earlier this year, possibly due to demands from the Chinese government.
Only for certain cars. It did not come back to any cars newer than 2020. I honestly don't know where the threshold was.

Looks the Performance is a 418xxx VIN (choice absent), while the LR is 407xxx (regen choice available).
Is it a Performance vs LR thing, as in not wanting to rely on Performance drivers in certain parts of the world to entirely brake for themselves

Interesting. So it could be they stopped the option sometime between when those two VINs were built…..
I guess. According to Google Tesla stopped offering the option on cars delivered in Oct 2020.
This option came back to ?all? cars in April, 2023.

I made a quick review of updates this year, and the option appears to have been applied to vehicles outside of the US. I received the option earlier this year, so it must be only those US cars where it was previously removed, as @uscbucsfan points out.
Even on the vehicles outside of the US it states "select vehicle configurations". I don't think Tesla ever intended to bring it to all vehicles.
