Non authorized body shop and warranty

Neighbor's mom somehow hit my parked car. I heard if repairs are done by a non authorized repair shop it voids the warranty. Is that accurate and would that apply if it's more cosmetic and not mechanical work being done?

What part of the warranty are you concerned about? You can have anyone fix a fender and, unless Tesla can prove the fender repair affected a part you are attempting to get fixed under warranty, it will still be covered.

Never heard that before that it voids the warranty. Should be the same for gas cars as well.

I got into two bumps on the tesla, all my warranty was still intact. 50,000 mile warranty. But, that 50,000 mile was done in like 3 years time for me.
