Off-Menu Metallic Silver Paint [from 2019 - not available]

I recently ordered an AWD Model 3 and had the paint changed to the off-menu Metallic Silver paint option. I took a look at the order tracking spreadsheet trying to get an idea for timelines for receiving the car.

But I question whether many people have put their correct info because when I went to add my car order entry to the spreadsheet I noticed that it does not have Metallic Silver as an option to select on the Google Form.

I was curious if anyone else has ordered an off menu paint color and how long it took for them to receive their car.

In my opinion this is the very best color for the M3. I didn’t know you could still order this color. I agreed to accept a dark gray one with free white interior- December build. Ordered in February.

Hi, would you mind sharing how you managed to order a off menu color, and how much they charged for the silver color?
Thanks.

Sure after I placed my order I talked to my gallery advisor and he submitted a backend support case to change the paint color to silver metallic. Then about an hour later I got an email that my order was updated and I could see an updated build showing the silver metallic color for $2000.

I ordered my car on Feb 8th and I found out earlier this week that the color has officially been removed as an off menu option on Feb 15th. I am really glad that I ordered when I did because I will probably receive one of the very last silver Model 3s.

Thanks! Argh! I placed my order at the end of January. Still waiting. And I didn't know that I couldn't have requested for silver ...

It doesn't hurt to call your local store or go in and talk to them. There's no way Tesla will stop making silver cars forever. Plus, if they're going to a make a batch for us that have order it, why wouldn't they want to make another one at the same time?

What version, seat color, and wheels you ordered?
I can't wait to see a pic. I also wanted the Silver color....

I did talk to my specialist. And he went to check, and unfortunately silver is no longer an option.
That being said, he did tell me that they have started production for the US again! So hopefully soon!

I ordered AWD with black interior and aero wheels and silver paint. I also added EAP and FSD. I wanted to guarantee I could get AP3 hardware upgrade.

I debated a lot between choosing aero wheels vs sport. I like the look more of sport wheels but wanted the better ride quality of the aero wheels.

That’s great news about US production starting again.

How do I know when my car has entered production?

When I get a VIN number assigned does that mean the car has already been produced?

I've no idea. I didn't complete all the registration info, with the financing/trade in part. So he asked me to do that.
He said he'll follow up to let me know when the car is in process.
I'm guessing that if we get assigned a VIN number, the car is in process? Or in the queue to be produced

I got my M3 in silver with aero wheel covers and love the color!

It is the only color that lends itself to painting the aero wheel covers the body color.
This custom mod gives you two entirely different looks to the car.
No covers skews sporty, silver wheel covers skews spaceship (preferred).

Painting wheel covers should be around $225 at a local body shop.
Don’t paint the center Tesla logo and they’ll look great!

Has the price drop been adjusted in your order yet?
