Los Gatos has been targeted by those who want to destroy US society over the last 3 or more years, and maybe some of their new agitators noticed an opportunity, and called that in to their thief buddies. Whatever the reason, we now know that the infection of thought of stealing from that SuperCharger is in place, so enforcement must erradicate those who have that thought there. The number of hobos around Los Gatos has increased dramatically and it would be easy for them to make it easy for drug addicts to move in and become aware of thieving opportunities. Netflix may be to blame for bringing in the wrong politics, but the solution is to catch thieves and make it unprofitable to steal from there.

What if the innards of the entire pedestal is sprayed with a protective heat-conductive non-flammable non-electrically-conductive strong goo that doesn't allow easy theft? Like a super rubber glue of some inexpensive type that isn't a favorite of insect infestation. Also, the cabinets should get the same treatment. While that would not prevent attempts to enter the pedestals, thieves would soon learn that the amount of effort to get a small amount of cabling would be counterproductive for their effort, and if it is paired with action-activated infrared camera alarms into enforcement centers that can dispatch police, then that would give the police an opportunity to keep their city good, and catch vandals in the act. THAT would make Tesla a hard target, and the thieves would go elsewhere instead.
