My insurance is 2.7% of the cars value annually. Or $1768 if you will.
It will go up if I drive more than 10k miles per year.
I have the maximum bonus, friends&family discount as well as a membership and "group discount"
Registration is $342

No sales tax on EVs, either. Oh, and there's a $5,000 rebate too on EVs with MSRP below $55k.

For comparison sake ....

Model 3 SR+
$37,990
Plus $1200 destination fee
Plus $311 4-year registration
Plus $85 title fee
= $39,586
Minus $5000 rebate
= $34,586 out the door, including ALL taxes and fees!

Nissan Altima SL FWD
$29,990
$1,986.84 (6.625% sales tax
Plus $925 destination fee
Plus $311 4-year registration
Plus $85 title fee
Plus $349(?) Dealership BS fees
Plus $7.50 tire fee
= $33,654.34

Which would you rather drive?

Let's be real - you could get some serious money off that Altima with discounts and incentives. Point stands though!

Las Vegas - my annual vehicle tax and registration is over $1100/year. Almost $900 of that is county taxes, because they like to punish people for doing well in life, and reward people that want to drive 1995 dodge caravans that are leaking fluids, alignments out of whack and brakes barely functional, about 100,000 miles past due on all other maintenance, and exempt from emissions testing... you know, just because.
