Opening Tesla 3 with phone

Still getting used to my model 3. I have linked my iPhone with it and use it to open the car but always open the app and press unlock. But I think I should be able to set it up so that it opens automatically when I stand beside it with my phone. Can I do this and if so - how?

You need to add the phone as a key.

Its quite simple and needs a key card. Instructions are in the manual around page 10

Ah. The phone was already added as a key. I am used to the car locking automatically when I walk away and I assumed the reverse should happen as I walked to the car. But I see that it doesn’t spring to life - I just need to open the handle and the door opens. Just tried it and it works!
