Orientation of UMC

Anyone with technical knowledge know if placing the UMC horizontally on the wall instead of vertically cause any issues? My non technical knowledge seems to think orientation doesn’t matter, but better be safe than sorry.

What I can see is putting strain on the pigtail if oriented horizontal ... @Rocky_H maybe able to confirm if there is UL issue though

You COULD do it horizontal but if this is a long term thing I would buy the bracket that holds the actual “mobile connector” part that your adapter connects into.

This is part of the Cable Organizer from the official Tesla shop. It’s called the “Chassis Holder”.

I would install it so it was a straight line between. The adapter and outlet.

I don't think there is any restriction on a sideways orientation, but I haven't seen any specific information on it that I recall.

You need to support the UMC if you put it horizontally (due to gravity).

You also would want an outlet mounted sideways, otherwise you will have a hard bend on the plug.
