(Re)ordered on 7/5, contacted by IDA on 8/29 to pickup, scheduled for pickup in Fremont today at 5:30PM. Had some second thoughts about paying the extra costs for the performance+Pup but in the end stuck with it. It has been an up and down ride from excitement to second thoughts back to excitement...etc. Wife asked me last night why I didn’t seem excited to be picking up today. I guess it’s just been so long in the making!

Planning to get car tinted - all windows and roof too? I heard it gets really hot?

For tint I’m planning on sides,rear, and windshield. Not the roof tho.

They'll let you, but you have to ask which is a bit weird.

Sitting at Tesla delivery center (actually came around 3:30pm even though my appt is at 5:30pm). It’s a disaster - so far I count 4 pissed off people/couples - one found a big scratch and they are detailing it. Said need 4hrs. Most other pissed off people are because they came at their scheduled time, and their car wasn’t ready. One came at 8:30am, and then came back at 4pm, and so not ready. Didn’t hear what issue was. I came earlier than my appt time thinking I may be able to get my car earlier but now just hoping I can get it AT the scheduled time. One advisor told me they are backed up because the AM appts were late and it’s backed up. Doesn’t sound right since most of the pissed people were here but car wasn’t ready, not the other way around. There are dozens of cars parked in the lot, waiting to be picked up though. Also noticed some people were sent here from the delivery experience event over on Kato road. Looks like poorly coordinated - they are turning those people away saying they are not able to accommodate them.

Had a great experience getting my P3D+ in Fremont this morning. Looked like about a 45m wait pst the scheduled time for the morning people from what I saw from others and experienced, doubt anyone arrived late. Can only imagine wait times got longer throughout the day, think the detailing people were overloaded. I arrived 15mins before the scheduled time and my car was still in back getting detailed and came out great. Saw lots of other P3D+ and it seemed like lots of M3 Dual Motors as well. Think I saw tojam's silver car and definitely saw pmccut driving away today in his, there were at least 3 DBM/black P3D+ cars delivered today.

I think it's kind of like flights, where you want the early flights if possible. Because delays are cumulative, and as the day goes on, the delays get longer and longer.

Coincidentally I also picked up today in Fremont too -- almost the same configuration. I was never contacted and never received a delivery date, but I showed up first thing at the delivery experience event on Kato Road and managed to figure out the game before a silver P3D+ was gone.

I picked up my P3D+ today from Fremont and the first thing the delivery specialist said to me was "Let's take a look at your car and go through all the features before we get to the paperwork."

We went through the entire car as the first thing we did and it was INSANELY BUSY there today. I'm very happy to report there are zero paint defects or panel gaps and the interior is perfect.

The reservations were delivered at a different location. The cars that were on Kato road were ones that weren't paired to a local buyer.

Left at 6pm in “Lenny the Loaner” model S. Headed back tomorrow at 8am - they assured me it will be ready and I’m first in line....I better be back in time for the Niners game at 10am....

Any of you see this white sticker/label in your driver and passenger doors jams? Open the doors and it’s near the top by windshield. My LR RWD did not have this label back in March but my August P3D+ does.

First in line this AM and it’s finally here! For those picking their cars in Fremont - strongly recommend taking a Sun appt and early in the morning - first a lot is 8am. It is like airlines - if the morning appts back up or someone asks takes too long or has issues, then it stacks up in the afternoon. The later the higher likihood you will be delayed significantly.
