Powerwall V2 Phantom Grid Draw

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issues I am here.

Had a Powerwall V2 installed 3 days ago.
I have 2 X 5kw 3-Phase SMA inverters and 10kw of panels on my roof.

I have had a single Powerwall installed with the gateway, my plan is to eventually get the backup capability hooked up to the phase that powers the fridge etc at the moment though it's soley used for timeshifting into the evening.

Anyway my problem is that the app is reporting grid draw even when there is ample battery in the powerwall, an abundance of solar generation and export and low household usage.

Take today for example, these are the screenshots from within the app. As you can see from midnight there has been no grid power draw, yet the app is listing 5.9kw draw from the grid? My electricity rate here is $0.34c/kw so 6kw a day of random electricity adds up. Does anyone know what is going on here?

Because of this "phantom" grid draw my self powered performance % is not what Im wanting to see.

Looking again at the end of the day, somehow I've drawn 12.9kws even though there's no points in the graph that show periods of grid draw, as well as the ample solar generation and full battery with no above peak power draws. Totally stumped

Looking more closely on your last pic right before 8pm there appears to be part of the blue overlay which is home use that has a few spikes and there is no powerwall “green” solar “yellow” or grid “grey” that is ramping up to cover that need. My guess is that’s where u have grid usage and the car did not read it

Hey David, I will call them up and see what the go is, it just seems weird that downloading the CSV data from the app at the end of the day shows no draw from the grid but the GUI in the app does. Almost as if the app looks at different sets of data, so there is a data mismatch between both reports from the app.

It has to be those ct connections there’s something not being accounted for everything should be read not just your backed up phases. On my setup my ac and the 220v outlet in my garage are obviously not on the backup but if I turn on my ac to test the gateway shows the surge I would try to get a technician out

Yeah I understand your point,im it just baffles me that the Tesla app itself reports 2 different readings, I mean if the CTs were mis connected somehow, you would still expect the downloaded data to match what's being displayed rite? This CSV is downloaded for the same time period as the screenshots and at no time I can see grid draw, only export.
